Shutki, sun-dried sea fish, is part of almost every Chittagonian home kitchen. Loitta and churi shutki are cooked into fiery bhunas and bhortas with plenty of garlic and chilli, and the dishes have moved from home kitchens onto restaurant menus. Asadganj near the Karnaphuli, which locals call the shutki bondor, is the old wholesale hub where you can see and buy many kinds of dried fish.
