Sal forests, jackfruit orchards and the Bhawal estate
Just north of Dhaka, Gazipur mixes fast-growing factory towns with patches of old sal forest that once belonged to the Bhawal zamindars. It is the easiest green escape from the capital, with forest walks, a safari park and roadside jackfruit stalls.
