Humayun Ahmed, the country's most loved novelist and filmmaker, built this rural estate at Pirujali and used it as a shooting location and writing retreat. The grounds have a pond with a wooden ghat, a small medicinal-plant garden, sculptures and hundreds of fruit and flowering trees. He was buried here in 2012, and fans still come to pay respects. It is calm and green, a gentle contrast to Gazipur's industrial roads.

From Gazipur Chowrasta take a CNG towards Pirujali; ask for Nuhash Polli.
