Kushtia কুষ্টিয়া
Lalon's songs, Tagore's estate and the Padma
Kushtia is the cultural heart of the south-west. The mystic poet Lalon Shah lies buried at Cheuria, where Bauls gather to sing his songs, and Rabindranath Tagore wrote some of his finest work at Shilaidaha on the Padma. Add a sesame sweet, a historic railway bridge and Kumarkhali's looms.
