Shon papdi
শনপাপড়ি
Flaky, melt-in-the-mouth threads of sugar, flour and ghee in neat little squares.
Shon papdi is made by pulling sugar syrup and roasted flour into fine threads, then pressing them into soft, crumbly squares. Kushtia's workshops are known for it alongside tiler khaja. It dissolves almost instantly on the tongue, with a nutty, buttery taste. Hawkers carry both sweets across the country.
