Opened in 1915, the Hardinge Bridge carries the railway over the Padma between Bheramara in Kushtia and Paksey in Pabna. Its long run of steel trusses was one of the great engineering works of British India. Beside it runs the newer Lalon Shah road bridge. The riverbank at Bheramara gives good views of both, especially at sunset.
How to get there
Train or bus from Kushtia to Bheramara (about 45 min), then a rickshaw to the riverbank.
Good to know
