Sajek is a string of Lushai and Tripura villages along a high ridge near the Mizoram border, now lined with cottages and cafés. Though it lies in Rangamati district, the road access is from Khagrachhari via Dighinala. The appeal is the view: at dawn, clouds often fill every valley so the surrounding hills seem to float. Helipad and Konglak viewpoints are the classic spots for sunrise and sunset.
How to get there
From Khagrachhari town, hire a jeep to Baghaihat, then join the army-escorted convoy up to Sajek (about 3 hours in total).
Good to know
Sajek is sometimes closed to tourists at short notice, for heavy rain and landslide risk or during local blockades (it closed in July and again on 11-15 October 2026). Check the Rangamati district administration's latest notice before you go. Vehicles go in escorted convoys at fixed times, so plan around them and carry your ID. Book cottages in advance on weekends. Foreigners need prior permission for the hill tracts, and access has been restricted at times; check current advisories.
