Khadimnagar was declared a national park in 2006 and covers about 679 hectares of hilly forest just beyond Sylhet city. Much of it was once cleared for tea and later replanted with teak, garjan, bamboo, agar and other trees, so it now feels like a young, green forest surrounded by the Kalagul, Burjan and Gulni tea gardens. Forest trails and streams run through it, and monkeys and many birds live here. Most visitors to Sylhet never hear of it, so it stays calm.
How to get there
From Sylhet city take a CNG via Shahporan toward Khadimnagar (about 30–40 minutes).
Good to know
Walk with a local guide or forest staff, since trails are not well marked. Wear shoes with grip and carry water; watch for leeches after rain.
