Village after village of looms weaving lungis, sarees and gamchhas for the whole country.
Sirajganj is one of the biggest handloom areas in Bangladesh, centred on Belkuchi, Enayetpur, Chauhali and Shahzadpur. In many homes the clack of wooden looms starts early and runs into the night, producing lungis, cotton sarees and gamchhas. Colourful yarn hangs out to dry along the lanes, and weekly cloth markets draw wholesalers from far away. Visitors can watch weavers at work and buy directly at fair prices.
How to get there
From Sirajganj town take a CNG or bus south to Belkuchi or Enayetpur.

Ask before photographing inside homes. Weavers are busiest before Eid.
