Sirajganj town has long fought erosion from the Jamuna, and the protective embankment known as Hard Point is now its favourite promenade. Concrete blocks slope down to the water, and the view opens across a seemingly endless river. In the evening people come for tea, snacks and the breeze, and boats can be hired for short trips. During the monsoon the current is powerful and the river feels like a sea.
