Shitlai Rajbari, also called Shitlai Zamindar Bari, stands in Shitlai village in Nimaichara union of Chatmohar upazila. Its foundation is dated to around 1734, under zamindar Jogendranath Maitra, whose estate covered much of the Chatmohar area. The complex has three single-storey buildings and one two-storey building, next to a big tank known as Hemanta Sagar. It is a quiet place, and the old walls by the water are a good stop on a Chatmohar heritage day with the Shahi Mosque and Handial temple.

How to get there

Take a bus or train to Chatmohar, then an auto-rickshaw to Shitlai village in Nimaichara union.
