The Chalan Beel Museum began in 1978 in a room of Khubjipur High School, started by Professor M.A. Hamid to save the history of the Chalan Beel region, and came under the Department of Archaeology in 1989. Its collection includes old hand-written Qurans on tulot paper, deeds said to be in Rani Bhabani's hand, stone images of Surya and Vishnu, and coins from about ninety countries. The museum has been badly neglected and some items were moved to Mahasthan, but it remains a rare look at the beel country's past.
How to get there
Take a bus from Natore to Gurudaspur, then an auto-rickshaw to Khubjipur village.
