Shashi Lodge was built by the Muktagacha zamindar Suryakanta Acharya Chowdhury and rebuilt by his adopted son Shashikanta after the 1897 earthquake. The two-storey building has a long colonnaded front, coloured glass and a garden with a fountain topped by a marble Venus. It later housed a women's teacher training college and has since been taken over for use as a museum. The garden is a pleasant place to sit in the afternoon.
