Shakuni Lake is the green heart of Madaripur town, a long rectangular lake surrounded by walkways and shade trees. In the late afternoon families, students and tea sellers gather along its banks. Government buildings and the town's memorials line parts of the shore. It is the easiest place to get a feel for daily life in the town.
