With so many rivers, fish is at the heart of Kurigram's kitchen. Korti, a small silvery fish, is a local favourite, alongside chela, boirali, and other catches from the Dharla and Brahmaputra. They are cooked simply, fried crisp or in a thin curry with tomato, onion and green chilli. Riverside markets in the morning are the best place to see the day's catch.
Good to know
Ask what came in that morning and have it fried.
