On the Brahmaputra chars of Kurigram, people keep buffaloes, and their thick milk makes a firmer, richer chhana than cow's milk. Char families turn it into chomchom at home, with a little flour, and sell it loose at the weekly char hats. Locals call it charchom, and you will not find it in town sweet shops. Because there is no shop rent or hired cook, it costs about half the price of a town sweet.
Good to know
Combine it with a boat trip from Chilmari; it is sold on hat days only.
