Jhontu Mistanna Bhandar started in 1939 and is still a small tin-roofed shop among concrete buildings in the Kalibari area of Kurigram town. Everyone in town knows it by name. Its chomchom and round white sweets are the everyday favourites, and it also makes khirmohon, rasmanjuri and chhanar sandesh. The family has kept the old recipes and the old care over quality.
