Tetulia sits on the Mahananda River at the very top of Bangladesh. From late October to early December, when the air is clear after the monsoon, the white peaks of Kanchenjunga become visible to the north, often turning pink at sunrise. The old dak bungalow on a rise above the river is a favourite viewpoint. Even without the mountains, the riverbank and the border villages make a peaceful place to stay.
