Tara Masjid was built in the early 19th century and later redecorated with chinitikri, a mosaic of broken porcelain and glass. Blue stars cover the domes and walls, while the inside is patterned with floral motifs and tiles, some of them imported. It is still a working mosque, so it is quiet and modest rather than a showpiece. A visit takes less than an hour and fits easily into a walk through Armanitola.
