Pabna Handloom and Hosiery

Generations-old weaving and knitting workshops that still clothe much of the country.
Handloom weaving has long been an important cottage industry in Pabna, producing sarees, lungis and gamchhas on wooden looms in village homes. In the 20th century the town also became known for small hosiery workshops making vests, socks and knitwear. Walking through weaving neighbourhoods you can hear the clack of looms and see yarn being dyed and dried in the sun. Many weavers are happy to show their work to respectful visitors.
