Dhol Samudra is a broad excavated pond on the outskirts of Jhenaidah town. Local tradition credits it to Raja Mukut Ray, a ruler of the area, and tells of drums beaten while it was dug. Today it is a quiet place of open water and tree-lined banks. Locals come for evening walks.
