Bandarban's slopes are covered with small orchards of papaya, banana and mango, and much of the country's hill fruit comes from here. Farmers bring the fruit down to roadside stalls and weekly hill bazars, where it is cheaper and riper than in city markets. Mangoes come in summer, while papaya and banana are found most of the year.
