In a village of Baliadangi upazila near the border stands a mango tree said to be around two centuries old. Its massive branches have bent down to the ground and rooted again, so the tree spreads in every direction, covering a large plot. Walking beneath it feels like entering a green hall. It is often described as one of the largest mango trees in Asia, and the owners charge a small fee to visit.
How to get there
From Thakurgaon take a bus to Baliadangi, then an auto-rickshaw to the village of Harinmari.
Good to know
Visit in summer to see it laden with fruit. Do not climb or break branches.
