Bright Tripura women's garments woven on back-strap looms in geometric patterns.
Tripura women traditionally wear the rignai, a wrap skirt, and the risa, a breast cloth, both woven at home on small back-strap looms. Patterns are bold and geometric, in reds, blacks and other strong colours, and each design has a name. You can find handwoven pieces, along with Chakma and Marma textiles, in shops in Khagrachhari town.
