Rajshahi has given its name to Bangladeshi mangoes, and the district's orchards produce well-loved varieties such as Gopalbhog, Khirsapat (Himsagar), Langra and the large, late Fazli. From late May to July, roadside markets fill with baskets and trucks loading fruit for the rest of the country. Eating a perfectly ripe Khirsapat straight from a local market is very different from a supermarket mango. Many orchards welcome visitors who ask politely.
Good to know
Early varieties like Gopalbhog arrive first; Langra and Fazli come later in the season.
