Meghna Riverside, Narsingdi

Narsingdi town lies close to the Meghna, one of the country's largest rivers. From the launch ghat you can hire a boat out towards the chars, low sandbanks where farmers grow vegetables in the dry season. At dusk the river turns gold and the silhouettes of bulk carriers and fishing boats slide by. It is an easy, low-key outing at the end of a day of sightseeing.
