Kalyan Dighi is a large excavated pond in Islampur union of Baliakandi upazila and one of the district's local places of interest. Old dighis like this were dug across Bengal by landlords and rulers to store water through the dry season. Today it is simply a quiet spot where villagers bathe, fish and rest in the evening. It makes a gentle detour on a trip to Padamdi.

How to get there

From Baliakandi bazar take a local auto; ask for Kalyan Dighi in Islampur union.
