Kalipada Biswas opened Joljog in 1893, and it is still where much of Jashore town starts its day. From first light it fries luchi to order, served with dal in the morning and mixed vegetables in the evening. The counter also holds chomchom, kalojam, roshmalai, mihidana and pera sandesh; in winter the jhola gur sweets go fastest. It stays busy from dawn until night and is one of the cheapest breakfasts in town.
