Jasimuddin's House and Museum
পল্লীকবি জসীম উদ্দীনের বাড়ি
The poet's family home by the Kumar river, with a small museum and his grave under a pomegranate tree.
Jasimuddin, author of Nakshi Kanthar Math, grew up in Ambikapur village just outside Faridpur town. His family's simple tin-roofed homestead has been preserved, and a museum nearby displays his books, letters and photographs. The poet asked to be buried near the old pomegranate tree in the family graveyard, and his wish was kept. Walking down to the Kumar river helps you see the scenery he wrote about.
How to get there
Rickshaw or auto from Faridpur town to Ambikapur, about 15 minutes.
Good to know
Visit in January to coincide with the Jasimuddin fair.
