Haribhanga Mango
হাড়িভাঙ্গা আম
Rangpur's own mango: round, fibreless and sweet, with a thin seed and lots of flesh.
Haribhanga originated in Mithapukur upazila and has become Rangpur's pride. The fruit is round and heavy, with a small stone, smooth fibre-free flesh and a fragrant, sweet taste. Its popularity has grown quickly, and orchards now spread over much of the district. In season, traders and visitors crowd the markets around Mithapukur and Padagonj.
Good to know
The season peaks in late June to July, a little later than Rajshahi's early mangoes.
