Built in 1519 during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Husain Shah, Goaldi Mosque is one of the few surviving buildings from Sonargaon's time as a Sultanate capital. The single dome sits on a square brick hall, and the mihrabs carry delicate stone and terracotta carving. It stands in a village a short ride from Panam, and few visitors make the detour. Nearby is a later Mughal mosque, making a neat pair.
How to get there
Rickshaw or auto from Panam Nagar, about 10 minutes.
Good to know
It is still used for prayer; visit outside prayer times and dress modestly.
