In the guava season, farmers paddle their canoes loaded with fruit from the orchards along Swarupkathi's canals to the markets at Atghar and Kuriana. Wholesalers buy directly on the water, and the fruit goes onto bigger boats and trucks to cities. Canals lined with guava orchards make a lovely boat ride. It is one of the most photogenic river markets in Bangladesh.
