Crisp, sweet guavas from the canal orchards that supply much of the country in monsoon.
The guava orchards of Swarupkathi are among the oldest and largest in Bangladesh. The fruit is crunchy and sweet, eaten fresh or with salt and chilli. In season, guavas are so plentiful that prices drop sharply at the floating markets. Buying straight from a farmer's boat is part of the fun.
