Besides tea, the hillocks around Srimangal and Kamalganj are planted with pineapple, and the summer harvest fills local markets with fruit. The pineapples are known for their sweetness and are sold by the piece from roadside stalls. Lemons and other fruits from the same hills are also local favourites.
