Rijuk Waterfall
ঋজুক জলপ্রপাত
A tall waterfall pouring straight into the Sangu, reached by boat from Ruma.
See the place on video
Rijuk falls from a cliff right into the Sangu River in Ruma upazila, so you see it from the water. Boats run downstream or upstream along the Sangu from Ruma bazar, passing Marma villages and steep forested banks. The fall runs all year but is fullest in the rainy season. It is less visited than Boga Lake and makes a gentle half-day boat trip.
How to get there
Jeep from Bandarban town to Ruma, register and hire a licensed guide, then take a boat on the Sangu to the falls.
Good to know
Ruma has had long tourist bans; check whether Rijuk is on the currently permitted route before going. Wear a life jacket on the boat.
