Ramgarh is one of the oldest towns of the Hill Tracts, on the Feni river opposite Sabroom in Tripura. In the town a lake surrounded by low green hills has been made into a park with a hanging footbridge and walking paths. It is a calm place for an hour's stop, and nearby are old tea gardens and the BGB memorial. Few travellers bound for Sajek or Alutila come this way, so it rarely feels crowded.
How to get there
Ramgarh is on the Chattogram–Khagrachhari road; from Khagrachhari town take a bus or CNG toward Ramgarh (about 1.5 hours) and a rickshaw to the lake.
Good to know
This is a border town; carry ID and do not go near the river border at night.
