Lakmachhara is a stream near Niladri Lake where water from the Meghalaya hills spreads over a bed of boulders. Visitors sit on the stones in the cool flow and look up at forested hills and cascades on the Indian side. It is far less crowded than the main lake.
How to get there
A short motorbike ride or walk from Tekerghat/Niladri Lake.
Good to know
Do not cross the border markers. Rocks are slippery, and the stream rises quickly after rain.
