Patuakhali Watermelon

In the dry months the coastal fields and chars of Patuakhali turn into watermelon beds. The district grew nearly two-fifths of the country's watermelons in 2021–22, and land in Rangabali that once lay fallow now produces big, sweet red-fleshed fruit. In season the fruit is sent all over the country, and local bazars are piled high.
